TRESOR Encounters, presented by World Crafts, is a platform for exchanging, learning, and meeting. The TRESOR Encounters platform brings together collectors, professionals, artists and craftspeople, who debate the latest themes related to collecting, exhibiting and fabricating contemporary artworks. In addition to shedding light on how new technologies influence today’s highly specialized creative crafts, these stimulating discussions also illuminate the essence of the art-collecting market and the changes that it is currently undergoing. The talks also consider the profitability of art production. A special highlight is a conversation between the Swiss television moderator Kurt Aeschbacher and the renowned architect Gion A. Caminada, who explains his passion for crafts. TRESOR Encounters also provides selected artists with opportunities to present their artworks and their craftsmanship. Several of these discussions take place as so-called “Booth Talks” directly at the exhibitors’ stands. The Media Lounge offers relaxation and a closer look behind the artists’ scenes. It presents an unconventional spectrum of film material made available by the exhibiting artists, the Crafts Council UK, the Festival International du Film sur les Métiers d’Art (FIFMA) and the formforum Schweiz. The Lounge’s casual atmosphere encourages visitors to immerse themselves in the world of craftsmanly creativity.
